Feeling Festive: St Regis or Madinat Jumeirah?

There’s no better way to get in the festive mood than head to a Christmas-themed market and Dubai’s hotels have pulled out all the stops to make your Christmas extra-special:

  1. Winter Garden Market, St. Regis

The newest kid on the block, the Winter Garden Market is set at the stunning Versailles Garden in Al Habtoor City, which really help add that extra European feel to the festivities. Although, there are a few F&B stalls and a DJ playing a catalog of Christmas hits, the small size of the event is disappointing and leaves a lot to be desired. The beautiful Versailles Garden, in itself, is definitely worth a visit during the cooler months.

2. Festive Market, Souk Madinat Jumeirah

Although getting in and parking are a massive challenge due to the throngs of crowds there, the Festive Market covers all grounds to keep everyone entertained: there’s an ice rink (AED 20), North Pole train (AED 20) and an Abra ride (which are decked out in Christmas decorations) with Santa (AED 25) to get the kids in the Christmas spirits. There’s also alcoholic beverages, tons of festive food stalls (do make it a point to try their scrumptious Festive Turkey sausages for AED 50), live music from a talented band who evened out Christmas songs with the latest pop hits to keep the adults happy too. The winter wonderland is stunningly decorated as well making the event a must-visit during the festive season

Verdict: Brush off your ugliest Christmas sweater and be sure to head to the Festive Market at Madinat Jumeirah – it has a little something for everyone.

Happy holidays, folks! If there are any nice Christmas-themed spots you think I should head to in the UAE, then do mention them in the comments below :).
